Excellent work...the colours and mood are fab...another painting which would look great as large size print on a wall or as a tapestry. L/F

Hi, Helena. I'm Sharon...65. I've done all kinds of art...pencil portraits, carving emu eggs, painting my art car, making life size animals from sheets of plywood, sculpting with clay, teaching art to homeschoolers, etc...Last year I decided to reinvent myself as an artist and am going for a degree in graphic design. Along with this I'm taking Oils...for the first time as they weren't something I felt I could get into with 4 kids. This semester we've been asked to do a self-portrait choosing a mentor and executing in his/her style. I searched for someone who I would care to learn from (after all, I'm not new to portraits) and I came across your "Transition." I fell in love with your style. I have a tendency to work very meticulously, tightly, and just can't seem to loosen up. I can't really learn from abstract masters because they go too far for me. But your work resonates and I think I can do a self-portrait in that way. So just so you know...it won't be sold...I won't copy your style on any of my other paintings...its just for this assignment and just for me. But I hoped you'd be flattered to know that you inspired me.
